Karissa was admitted to practice in 2018 in Trinidad and Tobago and is an Associate in the Dispute Resolution Department having joined the firm in 2022.
Prior to her entry in the firm, Karissa worked for a period of four years at the Office of the Attorney General as an Instructing Attorney-at-Law in the Chief State Solicitor’s Department representing the State and instructing Senior and Junior Counsel in various judicial review proceedings, constitutional motions, immigration matters and other civil legal proceedings at the High Court, Court of Appeal and Caribbean Court of Justice.
Her portfolio also includes Real Property Litigation, Mental Health Applications, Vesting Order Applications, among other areas. In her role as Instructing Attorney, she is involved in numerous phases of case development for complex civil litigation matters including, but not limited to, drafting various Pleadings, Legal Correspondence, Written Submissions, Notices of Applications, Witness Statements, Affidavits and Legal Opinions
