Javed is an Associate in the Dispute Resolution Department, having joined the firm in February 2021. Before his current role, Javed gained tutelage and experience as both an Advocate and Instructing Attorney in diverse areas of Civil Litigation, including insurance law, personal injuries, negligence, building and construction, medical negligence, contract law, contentious probate, and real property issues. During this period, he frequently worked alongside or instructed Senior Junior Counsel and Senior Counsel before the Courts, as well as in various tribunals and commercial arbitrations. One of his most significant roles was as the sole Instructing Attorney for a legal team that successfully represented a Claimant Company in one of the nation’s largest billion-dollar construction law claims.
Currently, Javed primarily serves as an Advocate in Civil Litigation and Industrial Relations matters. He is actively involved in various stages of litigation, including Case Management Conferences, Pre-Trial Reviews, Trials at the High Court, Industrial Court, and the Court of Appeal, as well as in Conciliation Hearings and Tribunals. His duties also encompass the drafting and settling of pleadings, witness statements, and evidential objections. Furthermore, Javed is responsible for handling procedural applications, conducting legal research, drafting written submissions, and preparing detailed opinions on liability, quantum, and evidence.
