Legal Secretary Conveyancing
VACANCY
Pollonais, Blanc, de la Bastide & Jacelon is recruiting for the following position: –
conveyancing clerk in property & estates
The incumbent will be required to prepare/draft deeds and other relevant security documents.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare/draft deeds and other documents
- Type search reports and miscellaneous letters
- Send out searches
- Review files
- Prepare bills
- Carry out administrative and legal secretarial duties with respect to certain matters
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- At least 5 CXC General passes (including English Language) or equivalent
- Training in paralegal studies
- 3 years’ experience in a similar position
DESIRABLE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of deeds, conveyancing and land law
- Knowledge of clerical and administrative procedures
- Computer literacy and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Advanced typing skills
- Keen attention to details
- Excellent interpersonal, customer service and communication skills
- Organisational and time management skills with ability to manage many files and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

CASHIER/BANKING OFFICER
The incumbent will be responsible for handing financial transactions, maintaining timely, accurate records and providing excellent customer service to clients and staff.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Accurately process payments from clients, including checks, cash, wire transfers
- Prepare and verify deposit book entries for the bank, ensuring returned entries are accurate
- Issue receipts and maintain a record of all financial transactions
- Handle client trust accounts in compliance with legal and ethical standards
- Prepare daily, weekly and monthly financial reports as required
- Assist in reconciling accounts and resolving discrepancies
- Assist with enquiries regarding billing, payments and account balances.
- Ensure all cheque payments, bank letters, deposits, receipts are filed daily in sequential order with the supporting documents in compliance with policies and procedures
- Collaborate with the Accounts Receivables Officer to ensure accurate financial reporting
- Maintain confidentiality of client information and financial data
- Provide courteous and professional service to clients during financial transactions
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of CAT Level 2 or experience in Accounting in a computerized and fast paced environment
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite with advanced level Excel, Word, Power-Point and Outlook
DESIRABLE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of key accounting principles and procedures
- Knowledge of PC Law would be an asset
- Strong decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizing and time management skills with keen attention to details
- Ability to meet strict deadlines
- Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team
